Terms of Service

By accessing or using AkuTranslations, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or any paid features.

These Terms apply to all visitors, account holders, readers, purchasers, contributors, and anyone else who accesses the service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and current information and keep it updated.

We may require additional verification before allowing certain account actions, payment actions, or support requests.

Coins and other paid digital features are sold as digital goods and may only be available through approved checkout flows.

Where Paddle is used for checkout, you authorize Paddle and its payment partners to process the payment method you choose for the total amount shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes, fees, and currency conversion charges if shown.

We may change pricing, package contents, or availability at any time before checkout is completed. The amount charged is the amount shown and accepted in the checkout flow.

Coins are an internal digital balance for AkuTranslations. Coins are not legal tender, stored value, gift cards, securities, or a banking product. Coins have no cash value except where a refund is approved under our Refund Policy or required by law.

Coins may be used only on AkuTranslations and may not be sold, transferred, exchanged, or redeemed outside the platform unless we expressly allow it in writing.

Premium chapters and similar digital access features may be consumed immediately upon unlocking. Once consumed, access generally cannot be reversed except where required by law or where we determine there was a verified technical error.

Refund requests are handled under our Refund Policy. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Refund Policy, the Refund Policy controls for refunds and billing adjustments.

You agree to contact us first before filing a payment dispute whenever reasonably possible so we can review the matter and resolve correctable issues quickly.

AkuTranslations is intended to provide access only to material that is original to us, licensed to us, in the public domain, or otherwise lawfully authorized for the use offered on the service. We do not permit paid access to content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates the law, or breaches a licensing restriction.

Anyone who submits, manages, edits, or distributes content through the service represents that they have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or other legal basis to do so. We may request supporting information for content rights, monetization status, or account activity where needed.

Contributors, translators, editors, and administrators must not submit or manage material for paid access unless they can confirm a lawful basis for that use. AkuTranslations may review contributor-submitted or account-managed material, request rights documentation, remove or disable access, preserve relevant records, and restrict repeat or serious violators.

We may remove content, disable monetization, restrict features, or suspend accounts if content appears to violate copyright law, licensing restrictions, payment-provider policy, or other applicable rules. Copyright complaints are reviewed under our Copyright and Takedown Policy.

AkuTranslations, our logos, interface design, and other original site elements are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from our site materials.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any third-party literary work, translation, synopsis, image, or other content that belongs to another rights holder.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, abused the service, engaged in fraud, attempted unauthorized payments, or created risk to our users or systems.

If an account is terminated, any remaining rights to access the service may end immediately, subject to any non-waivable legal rights and any separately stated refund rights.

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every chapter, translation, or payment attempt will succeed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site, account issues, or the purchase of digital goods.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operation of AkuTranslations, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer laws apply.
